IMPORTANT: 7th ESA VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM
Dear colleagues interested in the ESA2020,
We are concern with the impact of the COVID spreading and European Symposium on Aerobiology (ESA2020) date is coming, when many countries in Europe are under Health Alert and Europe is now the epicenter of the pandemic, as says the World Health Organization (WHO). For this reason, the Local Organizing Committee and the Board Committee of the European Aerobiology Society (EAS) proposes that the best solution is to organize a virtual symposium.
We would like to inform you just now for canceling your flights and hotel booking as soon as possible.
Please, contact with the technical secretariat PIC congress: esa2020@piccongresos.com for additional information.
We wish you all the best and excuse us again for the inconveniences,
Ingrida Šaulienė, Michel Thibaudon, Carmen Galan

7th ESA (European Symposium on Aerobiology), the third since the European Aerobiology Society (EAS) was held, will welcome you from November 16th to 20th, 2020 in Cordoba, Spain.
Dear Colleagues,
The symposium is the best opportunity to update all together the state of the art in this multidisciplinary science focused on Aerobiology, the study of airborne microorganism and biological particulate matter.
This Symposium will be organized in the frame of the European Aerobiology Society (EAS), Working Group for European Symposium, and it will also be supported by different institutions and associations dedicated to air quality and the impact to different ecosystems and human health.
The title of the symposium is “Bioaerosols and Environmental Impacts”.
A scientific committee will review the different proposals and the program. We will also organize the different institutional meetings of EAS (Executive Committee meeting and General Assembly) and other international or national meetings when request.
The general topics on this symposium are:
- Basic Aerobiology
- Indoor Aerobiology
- Molecular Aerobiology
- Airborne Microorganisms
- Plant Phenology
- New Methods for Detection and Analysis
- Forecasting and Modeling
- Health Impact
- Agronomy and Forestry Application
- Green Urban Spaces
- Phytopathology
- Forensic Sciences
- Melissopalynology
- Cultural Heritage
- Climate Change
- Environmental Pollution
- Ragweed
- Bioaerosols
The Symposium will take place in the facilities of the University of
Córdoba (UCO), and we will make all the best to ensure you an enjoyable stay.
For a perfect organization, the Technical Secretariat, PIC CONGRESS & Co., will take care of all the logistics.
A specific website is now open where you can find all the information you need www.esacordoba2020.com.
Cordoba has been declared as World Heritage by UNESCO four times: Cultural Heritage for Mosque-Cathedral in 1984, Historical Center of Córdoba in 1994, , Intangible Cultural Heritage of “Patios” in 2012 and World Heritage Site of the Caliphate City of Medina Azahara in 2018.
We have well connection with different airports near the city, and with the high velocity train (AVE) you can also prolong your stay to visit different places in Andalusia. We are ready to answer your specific questions.
Looking forward to see you in Córdoba in November 2020.
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee,
Carmen Galán, President of the 7th ESA

Ingrida Šaulienė
President of the European Association for Aerobiology (EAS)

VENUE

Rectorate building of the University of Cordoba
Av. Medina Azahara, 5
14005, Cordoba, Spain
The Rectorate is located in the former home of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, an attractive neo-Mudejar building standing on the Avenida de Medina Azahara, and one of the city’s most emblematic structures. The local authority commissioned the building in 1914 as a place to house the Veterinary Faculty, and it is considered by art historians to be Córdoba’s finest example of the regionalist style. During refurbishment of the new Rectorate, workers unearthed the Roman amphitheatre of Corduba, dating back to the first century B.C. and believed to be the largest in the whole of Roman Hispania. Renovation of the building enabld UCO’s central services to be equipped with modern facilities featuring the latest technology.
